The Brewers' World Series Celebration Last Night Was One Of The Most Pathetic Displays Of Nonchalantness Ever

So apparently the World Series ended last night. Could have fooled me because by the looks of it, the Milwaukee Brewers treated that celebration like they just clinched the division or something.

I mean what are we even looking at here? A couple of guys putting their hands up in the air, a few hugs, and some handshakes?

You'll see bigger celebrations on a random Tuesday night in some bullshit men's league softball game. This looked like a group of guys who were just thankful it was finally done. Even the radio call was brutal for a fanbase that has waited a lifetime for this moment. "Ground ball second base. Turang has it, goes to first...the wait is over. The Brewers have won the World Series. They have done it"

The worst phrase in sports is "act like you've been there before". I mean just for starters, the Brewers have literally never been there before. They shouldn't have to act like they've been there before because they've never won a World Series. But one of the things that makes pro sports so special is the passion. It means so much to the fans of these teams, and it's always great when you can see it means just as much to the athletes on the field/court/ice.

I don't know what it is. I don't know if guys just don't care as much anymore. I don't know if they think that it's lame to look like they care. I don't know if they are trying to put on this type of "Mama Mentality" persona where all they care about is just getting the job done. I don't know what it is, but it's been this way for a while now and it sucks.

Unbridled joy. Uncontrollable jubilation. Uncontainable euphoria. A group of men who became champions together for the rest of their life, and weren't afraid to act like some little kids again to celebrate.

The Brewers looked like they were about to treat themselves to a nice pizza party on the flight back home, and maybe not even have practice until Friday afternoon. Maybe there's just not as much excitement to the World Series anymore. I don't know. That's baseball.
