The 2026 Philadelphia Eagles Season Has Officially Been Cuncelled

But thanks to a truly dog shit NFC East, there was still a fighting chance. 2-4 entering Monday Night but still sitting in 2nd place in the division. They haven't won a single game in the month of October--dropped their last 4 in a row--but they still had a chance.
No Jalen Hurts. No DeVonta Smith. No Lane Johnson. No Cam Jurgens. A brutally banged up Saquon Barkley. A somewhat healthy Landon Dickerson. Obviously it was going to take a pretty miraculous performance tonight to get out of this losing streak, but it looked like maybe that's exactly what we were in store for tonight after Tanner McKee put together the single best drive of the season coming out of halftime.
17 plays. 84 yards 9+ minutes. And Makai Lemon's first career touchdown as a Philadelphia Eagle.
This is a team that has gone 3&out coming out of the locker room after halftime every week so far this season. But this week, they jam it 84 yards down Dallas' throat and keep Dak Prescott stapled to the bench until there were 5 minutes left in the quarter. For the most part, the offense looked great tonight.
And right on cue, the defense plays the most putrid game we've ever seen. Cooper DeJean? Ass. So ass. The most washed up 23-year-old there ever was. Jalen Carter? Irrelevant. Zack Baun? Forgot he's on the team. Quinyon Mitchell? Made a couple nice plays but that's it.
The offense goes out there and takes the lead after a surgical drive to start the 2nd half. And the defense immediately pisses away all of that momentum by allowing the Cowboys to march 61-yards down the field in 4 minutes to score a touchdown of their own. They didn't even have to wait until the 4th quarter.
Disgusting, gutless performance out of this defense tonight. No pride, no nothing. It's like Vic Fangio spent the whole night playing Candy Crush up in the press box. This is a defense that looked like they already quit on the season. Like they didn't expect to have anything to play for tonight. They don't give a shit about this season, so why should any of the fans?
Just find something better to do with your Sunday afternoons for the rest of this season. Literally anything at all. Vic Fangio has given up. Nick Sirianni doesn't have the answers. Sean Mannion is in over his head. The whole team is dead. The world is likely about to go up in flames over the next few months anyway. AI will wipe us all out, and we can finally forget about all this nonsense. Just go outside and enjoy the rest of your life without worrying about this good-for-nothing Eagles team. It's over. It was an incredible ride, don't get me wrong. 5 straight seasons of being in the playoffs, 2 trips to the Super Bowl, and 1 parade. It was a ride that Eagles fans will be able to look back fondly on in 5-10 years. But for right now? It's over. Time to blow it up and start from scratch again. Luckily we have a Hall of Fame owner who will make sure this thing gets turned around, even if he put himself in the Eagles Hall of Fame.
