Emmanuel Acho Put On The Worst Performance In Sports Debate History By Bragging About Being A Nerd And Reading Shakespeare
Emmanuel Acho and Leonard Fournette got into an argument about god knows what. I don't particularly care to find out what the root of all this stems from. All I know is that Emmanuel Acho is one of the most insufferable dickheads in sports media, and I'm pretty sure I am co-workers with Leonard Fournette. So I'll be taking Lenny's side 10 times out of 10 here.
ESPECIALLY once that weasel Emmanuel Acho decided that the only ammo he had to fight with was bragging about being a dork who learned Shakespeare in middle school.
I don't know a single person in my actual life who cares one bit about what Emmanuel Acho has to say about anything. In fact, I really don't know anybody in my actual life who has even listened to Emmanuel Acho say anything. I might just be way too online. But how on Earth could anybody consider listening to his commentary on sports when his only debate against Leonard Fournette is "I'm smarter than you and I was a fucking dork in middle school"?
He played the game, I get it. But this is something that actually drives me nuts. If you're arguing about sports, then keep it about sports. If you were debating Leonard Fournette about some sort of scholarly theory, then by all means you can bust out the fact that you were a nerd in school who took a bunch of AP courses. But what does reading Shakespeare and learning French have anything to do with football?
If anything, it just goes to show why nobody can remember ever actually seeing Emmanuel Acho out on the field. Maybe if this nerd was in the playbook more than the playbill, he could have been something. Reading a bunch of sonnets doesn't mean you can read pre-snap indicators if a play is about to be a run or a pass. I don't want my football guys to know about anything else besides football. There's a reason why Kyle Shanahan is one of the brightest minds in football but the man can't figure out time zones to save his life. Because all he thinks about is ball. If Emmanuel Acho is too busy solving quadratic equations, then that means that his ball knowledge is taking a hit.
There have been a lot of terrible moments in sports debate history through the years. But the "I'm smarter than you because I read Hamlet in middle school" takes the cake as the lowest moment of them all. There used to be a time when nerds weren't allowed to talk about football, and we should get back to those times.
