Jon Sumrall Is The Coach The Florida Gators Have Been Looking For Since Urban Meyer

The more I listen to Jon Sumrall speak, the more I want to run through a fucking wall. He's on pace to be one of the greatest Florida Gator head coaches of all time with sound bites alone. Obviously, if he wants to be in the conversation of the great like Meyer and Spurrier he's going to have to win a lot more than three games, but there's a certain energy and leadership style about him that is different than any coach we've had. 

You see, I love a coach that talks like one of the boys in the locker room. Especially when he's in the locker room!! Miss me with all that "we deserved this because we worked hard bullshit." Give me that "I got one thing to say… FUCK EM!!!!' That's the energy this program has been missing. That attitude of we're the Florida Gators and your not. And if you don't like it fuck you. It's called a mans game for a reason and when you have a leader with that mindset of if you're not one of us then fuck you, you will be successful in this sport. 

Now even with everything I just said, it's also good to have a coach who knows how to keep a hungry team hungry. Nick Saban used to always say the worst thing that happens to his football teams is when they start eating the rat poison that the media feeds his players. Jon Sumrall is no different he answered the question perfectly. "Hey coach how does it feel to be a favorite against Ole Miss?" …. 

"There's a lot of good drugs out there, huh?"

10/10 perfect response. NO NOTES. Do not let the media or Vegas start to feed that rat poison to a group that has something to prove. This team hasn't done shit for years, and for the first time in a while they look hungry and determined to change that and it all starts with the attitude that coach Sumrall has installed in this team.

I haven't been this excited for a game in the Swamp like the one this Saturday since 2022. Go Gators!
