You'd Have To Be An All-Time Silly Goose To Watch This Pickleball Hands Battle And Not Immediately Think That Pickleball Rules
Hand-eye coordination through the roof. Insane speed and reaction time. A perfect blend between power and precision. It's everything the human brain craves, all wrapped up into one singular pickleball point.
Let's break out the stopwatch real quick. This point at the Major League Pickleball tournament in Grand Rapids yesterday was a little under 9-seconds long. For the sake of easy math, let's just round it up to a full 9 seconds. In those 9 seconds the ball was hit 18 times. For those of you who suck at math, that means the ball was changing direction every half-second. And these dudes were all in total control of it the entire time. That's the same amount of time it would take for a 95 mph fastball to reach the plate in the MLB, and these guys didn't even blink.
One of the great things about pickleball is that anybody can play the sport. But one of the drawbacks about pickleball is also that anybody can play the sport. People get the wrong idea about pickleball because they think it's just a game for their Great-Aunt Dolores to lumber around a mini tennis court for an hour every week. But just like everything else, there are levels to pickleball. And the guys and gals playing at the highest level of pickleball? They are some ridiculously sick sons of bitches. It's the same way that you suck at golf when you hack your way around the course to come in with a 107 every weekend, but the best golfers on the planet are freaks of natures who are dialed in beyond this world.
I'm not saying you need to be all in on pickleball, and start watching tournaments every week. I'm not saying you need to think it's the best sport in the world (although it's damn near close). All I'm saying is that if you watched that point and you didn't come away thinking its electric, then you don't deserve happiness in your life.
