24-Year-Old In Ohio Arrested For Pretending To Be In High School, And Somehow This Loser Still Only Made The JV Soccer Team

Fox 8 -- Perrysburg Local Schools said it is conducting a full investigation into a highly deceptive and unusual case where a 24-year-old migrant from Venezuela enrolled at the high school using fraudulent documents and false pretenses...Anthony Labrador Sierra, 24, is accused of posing as a 16-year-old high school student.

The district said it followed federal and state requirements under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, which mandates enrollment for students experiencing homelessness or without a legal guardian.

Labrador Sierra participated in the junior varsity soccer and swim teams, which raises concerns about an unfair competitive advantage due to his age.

So here we have a story about a 24-year-old migrant posing to be a 16-year-old boy to enroll in an Ohio high school. Naturally, everybody is up in arms about how this could happen. About how he got here in the first place, about how he was able to forge all the documents to give to the district, about how everybody could see a 24-year-old man and just go along with the story that he's a 16-year-old kid.

All of that is crazy, no doubt about it. But the biggest takeaway of this story for me is that Anthony Labrador Sierra is 24-years-old and this loser still only made the JV team for soccer and swimming? That might be the most embarrassing thing I've ever heard in my life. If you're going to be 24-years-old and pretending to be in high school, you better be the nastiest athlete that school has ever seen. You better get on the field and look like you're a damn phenom. You better have college coaches kicking in your door trying to get you to sign with them. You have 6 years on all these kids. You should be able to dominate at the varsity level. And that's even without taking into consideration that Anthony Labrador Sierra is from Venezuela.

I just assumed everyone from South America is naturally incredible at soccer. I figured by the time you're like 8-years-old in Venezuela, you could play on most varsity soccer teams in America. But here we have 24-year-old Anthony Labrador Sierra playing on the JV team. Most of these kids are going to be 14 and 15-years-old. The fact that you're not dominating these kids to the point where the school has to look into how old you actually are is the biggest red flag to me.

All I'm saying is that while I'd never condone being a 24-year-old man pretending to still be in high school....if you're going to go for it, you better at least go out there and set a bunch of school records before you get caught.
