UPDATE: THE TUSH PUSH IS STILL ALIVE, BITCHES
I gotta be honest here, I have no idea why I continue to ever believe Dianna Russini. I feel like I've gotten burned by her sources like 15 times in the past year alone. Earlier this morning it looked like the Tush Push was finally unalived.
But here we are an hour later, and enough teams realized the Packers were just being a bunch of whiny little bitches. Enough owners around the league realized you can't ban a play just because one team is really good at running it, and everybody else sucks. You can't ban a play just because the Packers are dog shit at football.
That's always been what this has been about. Maybe if a somewhat respectable team was the one leading the charge here to ban the Tush Push, it would gain more support. But the Packers are the most sour grapes team in football, they know they'll never have a chance to win the NFC as long as the Eagles keep shoving it down their throats, and they were looking for any way possible to slow them down. Enough teams saw through that, and they did the right thing to not pass the ban.
That has to be the end of it. It's been 3 offseasons in a row at this point with teams trying to ban the play, and it has failed every single time. This offseason was definitely the hardest teams have pushed to get rid of the play (pun somewhat intended), and even multiple revisions wasn't enough to get the job done. It's time for teams to start shifting their focus on figuring out ways to stop the play, or figuring out ways to execute it themselves. Because getting rid of it clearly isn't the answer any more.
What a turn of events. What a win for America. It's about time we told losers they don't get their way just because they feel like life isn't fair.
