Rule #1 Of Hockey: If You Touch The Goalie, You Die
Just for starters, you know a hockey league is an absolute shit show when they need to add an extra level of plexiglass above the bench to make sure that fans aren't throwing shit onto the players. Looks to me like that's the home team's bench, too. So if even the boys playing in their own barn need an extra layer of protection from the fans, then chances are that bench clearing brawls like this are as common in the game as faceoffs.
Now I can't exactly tell where this is from. I want to say Russia, but I feel like #10 in white immediately skating away once he saw the entire bench coming after him takes Russia out of the picture here. If he was Russian, he'd be skating directly into the fire. Either way, it's definitely some Slavic country. It's just nice to know that no matter where you are in the world, there's always going to be a woman ruining a perfectly great fight video by screaming in the background the entire time. It's such a universal human experience.
As for the fight itself? I couldn't be more proud of the fellas in blue who immediately rushed out onto the ice to beat the brakes off of #10 in white after touching their goalie. There wasn't a single ounce of hesitation there. The goalie hadn't even hit the ice yet before #10 had at least 3 dudes trying to rip his face off. A couple of flying takedowns at center ice, and from there it was everybody grab somebody. That's a great donnybrook right there, through and through.
The one thing that has always amazed me after a brawl like that is everyone going back to grab their team issued gloves once the fight is over. I can't imagine these guys are all getting custom ordered gloves with their names embroidered onto them. Chances are there are 20 pairs of the exact same gloves on the ice. How do you know which pair is yours? I guess if you play in a league like there where these fights break out frequently, you learn to sharpie your number onto the tag or something. But it always seemed to me like you'd be leaving this fight with a different pair of gloves then you went out there with. You can tell who the goal scorers are by the way they don't even risk losing their gloves in all that mess.
