Connor McDavid Has To Be Getting So Tired Of This Shit

We all watched the locker room footage from last year's Cup Final. We all know how much this means to McDavid. All this guy wants to do is win in the playoffs. He knows that regular season success doesn't mean shit anymore. If any of this is ever going to be worth it, he needs to win 16 games in the playoffs.
So here they are. Back in the playoffs again for the first time since losing in game 7 of last year's Cup Final. The actual season is finally here for Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers. Aaaaaaaannnddd.....
It was 4-0 before McDavid even had a chance to recover from the Harmonica Anthem.
The harmonicas were buzzing. Edmonton was getting their shit shoved in and their dicks blown off. The Oilers were 6 seconds away from all getting their heads ripped off their body and chewed up by McDavid in the locker room during the 2nd intermission. Lucky for them, 97 and 29 were able to get them on the board right before the end of the period.
If they went into the 2nd intermission down 4-0, I legitimately think there's a chance there would have been a brawl in that locker room. Someone would have come out onto the ice for the 3rd period with their eyes pounded shut. But just like always, McDavid and Draisaitl put the team on their back and started going to work.
Granted, those two guys are paid to do that. They're superstar players with superstar bank accounts. Obviously it's going to be a little difficult to build a complete team around one guy making $12.5M and another making the jump to $14M AAV next season. But just look at what Washington has been able to do. They surrounded a 39-year-old Alex Ovechkin with scrap parts that all magically came together to work. Chychrun, Strome, Dubois. All those guys were a year away from turning into total suitcases in the league bouncing from team to team every year. McDavid somehow still needs to do all this shit on his own.
So he has the primary assist on the Draisaitl goal to make it 1-4. He has the primary assist on the Corey Perry goal to make it 3-5. He has the primary assist on the Zach Hyman goal to make it 4-5. And with 90 seconds to go in regulation, Connor McDavid completes his Herculean effort to bring this dog shit Oilers team all the way back by tying the game himself at 5-5.

4 points on the night. 3 primary assists and the game tying goal. All the Oilers had to do at this point was let 97 recharge real quick, and get the game to overtime where he could deliver the dagger. Instead….
The Kings score with 40 seconds to go after Evan Bouchard makes a terrible pinch on the blueline, and Skinner gives up a knuckler from Philip Danault. Might as well have just lost 7-0 at that point and saved the energy for game 2. McDavid had 42 points in 25 playoff games last year to bring the Oilers one game away from winning the Cup. Looks like he's going to need at least 50 this year.
P.S. -- 4 games in the playoffs last night. All 4 of them were 1-goal games, and 2 of them went to overtime. What a sport. Here are the other 3 game winners for your viewing pleasure.
Caps take a 1-0 series lead after somehow Ovi just scored the first playoff overtime goal of his career.
Kyle "Should Have Been An American Hero" Connor got his 2nd game winner of the playoffs already to give the Jets a 2-0 series lead against St. Louis.
And finally, Colin Blackwell kept the series alive for the Stars and made sure Dallas didn't lose 2 straight games at home by tying up the series 1-1 with this OT winner.
