Zeev Buium Is A Bad Man, Salutes The Boston College Bench Goodbye After Sending Them Home For The 2nd Straight Year

Zeev Buium is just 2 wins away from finishing off the most insane 2-year run by any American prospect ever. He was a part of both the 2024 and 2025 US World Juniors teams that won back-to-back gold medals at the WJC for the first time in USA Hockey history. He won a National Championship with Denver last year as a freshman after the Pios took down Boston College in the title game. And now he has Denver heading back to the Frozen Four after capping off the game with an empty netter to take down BC 3-1.

Speaking of Boston College, the Golden Eagles have played a huge role in those back-to-back golds for Team USA at the World Juniors. The 2024 team had 7 BC guys on the roster, and the 2025 team had 6 BC guys on the roster. So these are all guys who I'm sure Zeev Buium would consider like brothers at this point. Especially guys like Ryan Leonard, Gabe Perreault, and Drew Fortescue who were on both teams with him.

Now everybody knows that as good as it feels to beat your enemies, sometimes it feels even better to beat your boys. That's something you get to have over them for the rest of your life now. Anytime you get the boys back together for a weekend, or just for dinner and drinks. Anytime the team gets back together for a reunion. You always get to say, "hey, you guys remember when I beat your ass in the National Championship and then sent you packing in the quarterfinals the next year?". That's huge for a kid like Zeev Buium, who was the only Denver guy on both of those rosters besides head coach David Carle.

So you know that salute had to feel nice. A quick little tip of the cap to your boys and a great college career, but also letting them know who the real big dawg in the friend group is.

Maybe BC will have a chance once Zeev Buium leaves Denver to sign with the Minnesota Wild, and once David Carle is coaching the Philadelphia Flyers.
