Philly Tough: Howie Roseman, GM of the Century, Got Smoked In The Head With A Beer Can During The Eagles Parade And Couldn't Care Less
Howie Roseman has now brought his 2nd Lombardi Trophy to the city of Philadelphia.
You think about every decision he made to construct the 2024 Eagles roster, and every single decision was better than the last. It all started with drafting Jalen Hurts in the 2nd round of the 2020 Draft. Then you had the Carson Wentz trade, which turned into drafting DeVonta Smith, trading for AJ Brown, drafting Jalen Carter, and drafting Cooper DeJean. I mean this man hasn't missed on a draft pick in the past 4 years. Jalen Carter, Nakobe Dean, Quinyon Mitchell, Jalyx Hunt, Cam Jurgens, Landon Dickerson, taking a chance on Jordan Mailata.
And then, of course, there was the decision to go out and land Saquon Barkley in free agency. Howie Roseman built this roster from top to bottom. He's the greatest executive in all of sports right now, not just in the city of Philadelphia or in the NFL. He's built this team through the draft, through trades, and through free agency. He's built a roster that is lined up perfectl to go on a run for multiple years to come.
So if you think he's going to miss even a second of this Super Bowl parade because he ended up getting smoked in the face with a beer can? You'd be sorely mistaken. Howie Roseman is Philly tough. He's been through worse than taking an ice cold Miller Lite to the dome. It sucks that it happens, and maybe fans should stop launching beer cans at the buses since nothing good seems to happen from it...
But Howie Roseman has the heart of a champion, and the balls of a legend. Headaches last for a few hours, cuts on the forehead last for a few days, championships last forever.
UPDATE: Howie Roseman, quite literally, bleeds for this city.
