Lunatic Hockey Dad Marches Onto The Ice To Assault A Couple Of Teenaged Refs

Have you ever heard the story about how Wayne Gretzky's dad walked out onto the ice one game and punched a ref square in the jaw because little Wayno got tripped up without a call being made?

Have you ever heard the story about how Sidney Crosby's dad got into a massive screaming match with a bunch of other parents from an opposing team because he didn't like the way the game was going?

Have you ever heard the story about how Connor McDavid's dad verbally assaulted a child ref while walking out of the rink to his car because he made a few questionable calls during a peewee hockey game?

The answer to all of those questions is no. Because they never happened. And why did they never happen? Well because the majority of hockey parents are well-adjusted human beings who understand that a peewee hockey game means absolutely nothing at the end of the day. The majority of hockey parents understand that there's literally never a need to resort to physical or verbal violence at a peewee hockey game, especially when that physical violence is targeted at a couple of refs who aren't even old enough to drive themselves to the rink.

A random peewee game in February is never going to have any legitimate impact on the future of your child's hockey playing career. Do you want to know what will have a legitimate impact, however? Seeing his dad storm onto the ice to assault a couple of teenager refs, and then trying to figure out why he's never allowed to go back to that rink ever again.

Aside from this dad being a total lunatic, I do want to take a moment here and just highlight #71 in white. This kid can play for my team any day of the week. He sees those refs go down and immediately goes right after the dad. Zero hesitation, he wants all of the smoke. He's wearing an "A" on his sweater and you can see why right there. Kid is a natural leader. If he's sees any wrong in the world, he's there to make it right one way or another. Even if that means he needs to go after some mutant who is 30+ years older than him. Big fan of that kid.
