"Eagles" Continues To Be The Most Difficult Word In The English Language To Spell

According to a quick Google search, there are approximately 218,632 words in the English language. Seems pretty light to me. I would have guessed somewhere closer to half a million. But as someone who doesn't have the most extensive vocabulary in the world, I'm glad to hear there are significantly fewer words that I don't know than I would have previously thought.

Regardless. Out of the 218,632 words that exist in the English language, we have seen time and time again at this point that the word "Eagles" is the most challenging word to spell correctly. Especially when attempting to spell it correctly while staying on cadence for the "EAGLES" chant.

Last year we saw this poor soul go down with an "E-L-G-S-E-L".

Missed an "A". And flipped the "S" and "L". It was a valiant effort, but left much to be desired.

Just a few short weeks ago, we saw Mayor Cherelle Parker also forget that pesky little "A" as she went down with an "E-L-G-S-E-S".

In both instances, these women started off strong by getting the "E" right. They knew the "G" was in there somewhere in the middle. They knew another "E" existed somewhere as well. However, that "A" was elusive and threw them off their path. But at least we got 6 letters out of them to go with the cadence of the chant.

This latest fella, however? Well he started off so strong. 3 for 3 on the opening series of letters. He even had the "A" in there, which has proven to be the achilles heel of spelling Eagles. But he just couldn't bring it home. The moment got away from him, he lost control, and he forgot there were 53 players on the roster. Not just one singular Eagle, but a plural amount.

It's a shame that the city of Philadelphia had to challenge the fanbase in this way. At least New Yorkers were self-aware enough to just keep it to 4 letters with JETS. Dumbasses of shit could never handle 6 letters and multiple vowels.
