Jordan Mailata Makes Blocking For Saquon Barkley Look Like The Most Fun Anybody Has Ever Had In Their Life
"Follow me, I know the way".
They'll write entire textbooks one day about the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive line. It's insane what these giant slabs of meat have been capable of doing over the past 7-8 years. Everybody knows what a wizard Jeff Stoutland is, and how there's not a better line coach on the planet. But at one point you at least had to wonder if it was all Jason Kelce holding it together. He retired this year, and not only has Cam Jurgens stepped in to replace him but he's a legitimate upgrade from 2023 Kelce. Then when Cam Jurgens can't go for the 1st half of the NFC Championship Game, Landon Dickerson slides over to play center and Tyler Steen comes in to replace him at left guard. It's a legitimate plug-and-play offensive line that operates at an elite level no matter who is in there.
And Jordan Mailata makes it look like the most fun anyone has ever had in their life. Maniacally laughing 60-yards down the field as Saquon Barkley rips off another home run on the first Eagles' play from scrimmage. The man is 6'8", 360 lbs, and sprinting all the way down the field laughing his ass off to celebrate with Barkley in the end zone after taking out 2 Commanders and AJ Brown. Guys like that aren't supposed to be able to move like that. But Jordan Mailata is a freak, and I guess you get a little extra juice when you know at any moment you could open up a hole for one of the best runs in NFL playoff history.
I'm sure the Tush Push sucks for all those guys on the line who just have to take on the brunt of all of it time and time again. But the reward for grinding in the trenches for the Tush Push is getting a chance to lead the way for Saquon Barkley to do the things he does on a regular basis.
