The Philadelphia Eagles Silence All The Idiots In The World, Unload The Clip In Passing Game To Dominate The Steelers

The Eagles had a shaky win last week against Carolina. Clearly a game they didn't give a shit about, against a team who they didn't respect. So after the game, AJ Brown told the media that the passing game needed some improvement moving forward.

Every idiot on the planet who has never been a part of a locker room before instantly took that as AJ Brown calling out Jalen Hurts. Every dipshit in the world who has never competed for anything in their life thought that would derail the Eagles season and cause the team to fracture apart. Literally all that happened was an ultra-competitive elite player wanted his team to execute better than they had been. A couple of grown men, who are best friends off the field, just needed to be better. Nothing more, nothing less.

Well that's exactly what we got today.

The Eagles hosted the Steelers today in the PA State Championship, and just dominated the everliving shit out of them all afternoon. The passing game was obviously the main story here. Jalen Hurts was 25/32 for 290 yards. AJ Brown had over 100 yards and a touchdown. DeVonta Smith had over 100 yards and a touchdown. Grant Calcaterra had a couple big catches. The passing game was so dialed that Kenny Gainwell even had a few massive grabs. Jalen Hurts shut up every single soul who thinks that he can't completely take over a game with his arm.

And here's the thing--it's not like the Eagles just completely changed up their offensive identity because of what AJ Brown said to the media last week. Obviously the Steelers have an elite rushing defense. They held Saquon Barkley to just 65 yards on 19 carries today. There's hardly anywhere to run against that defense, and especially nowhere to run if you want to pick up any explosive plays. So the game called for a huge day through the air, and that's exactly what this offense delivered.

When they can kick the shit out of you on the ground, that's what the Eagles will do. When they have to kick the shit out of you through the air, that's what the Eagles will do. Every game calls for a different situation, but the Eagles are so damn loaded all over the field that they can make those changes.

Especially when you have the defense like the Eagles do in order to constantly get the offense the ball.

The Steelers literally had 2 drives the entire 2nd half. They got the ball with about 8 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter and then fumbled it away after 2 minutes. The Eagles went on to score a touchdown after that turnover. Then the Steelers got the ball back, had a decent 4-minute drive going but stalled out at the 46 yard line with 10:40 left to go. Down by 14, 4th and 7, you'd think a coach with a set of balls would elect to go for it.

Mike Tomlin is the owner of zero nuts.

Punts from the +46 with over 10 minutes to play, and never. saw. the. ball. again.

The Eagles got the ball on their own 3-yard line and proceeded to rip off 21 plays to never put the ball in Russell Wilsons hands again. 10 minutes and 40 seconds of pure dominance. It was one of the most beautiful sights you'll ever see. 88 yards of meat and potatoes football. Holy fuck am I jazzed up about that drive.

This game had everything that you'd need to see in order to feel confident about the Eagles being a legitimate Super Bowl team. The offense was electric. The defense were a bunch of bullies all day. Maybe even a little too big of bullies, sometimes.

Sidenote: This is just something the Eagles are going to have to live with for a while as Jalen Carter continues to mature as a player. Obviously you wish he didn't do this sort of shit. But part of what makes him such a dominating player is that he's a complete psychopath. Sometimes the tiger gets out of the cage. Good news is that he's so used to getting chewed out after making undisciplined mistakes that this one from Sirianni didn't even phase him.

No harm no foul.

But yeah. Offense was great. Jalen Hurts was especially great. Defense was great. Jake Elliott made all of his kicks. There were a couple ball security issues that you'd like to see them clean up, but that's really the only sore spot of the whole game. The word that this game keeps coming back to is dominance. One team that was far and away more superior than the other, and they never left that up for debate. What a win. What a team.
