Nobody Has To Be More Violently Sick Right Now Than Mike Trout

For the life of me, I can't figure out what it is with Mike Trout. Is he just loyal to a fault? Does he not actually care about winning, and enjoys being paid $425 million to never have any legitimate expectations to do so? Is he still somehow convinced that he'd be able to win with the Angels?

Maybe it's some sort of combination of all three. A little 40-30-30 blend in whichever way you think fits the most. But for whichever reasons, Mike Trout has decided that he will spend the rest of his playing career with the Angels. Which means that he'll never have a chance at winning a World Series. Something he had probably come to terms with already, but it sure as shit wouldn't make seeing this any easier.

You know that someone who isn't you obviously has to win the World Series every year. But it has to be an entirely different thing when the guy you were tied to for the past 6 seasons takes off in free agency, moves across town, has one of the more incredible seasons in MLB history, and caps it off with winning a World Series. They were teammates 365 days ago, and now Shohei's career has left Mike Trout in the dust. Brutal way to lose a breakup.

And the worst part about it? I just don't see any way for Mike Trout to close the gap. Who is going to pry him away from the Angels? The money, the injuries, the age. All he can do now is be the biggest Dodger hater on the planet and pray that Shohei just ends his career with the one title.

Sidenote: October Birds games forever.
