Haason Reddick Is Right. $800K Is Not Nearly Enough To Play A Game For The New York Jets

In continuing his holdout and missing the Jets' season opener last night against San Francisco, Haason Reddick forfeited "nearly $800,000".

I'm pretty sure the exact number is $792,000. First off, imagine how sick life must be if you're able to willingly give up $792,000 hitting your bank account. I mean it's not like he's necessarily "losing" $792,000, it's just an extra $792,000 that he's not making. But still. There are VERY few things that I wouldn't do right now for $792K. However, after last night's display it's pretty safe to say Haason Reddick was right. Missing out on nearly $800K isn't nearly enough to make him regret not playing football for the New York Jets right now.

The Niners have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to offensive weapons on their roster. But we've seen before that if you take Deebo Samuel or Christian McCaffrey out of the equation, they're a completely different team. They're not able to do all the same things they love to do when one of their position-less superstars are on the sideline. But that wasn't going to stop Robert Saleh and the Jets from getting toyed around out there. Maybe the fact that defense couldn't hold a backup running back to under 100 yards is reason enough for the Jets to give Haason Reddick a blank check on whatever contract he wants. But on his current deal? It's no wonder he'd rather just watch that game from the couch.

Either give the man a new contract or just send him back to Philly where he can play for an actual defensive coordinator like Vic Fangio. I'm sure the Eagles will welcome him back with open arms.
