Things Already Aren't Looking Great For Eagles' Rookie DB Cooper DeJean After Getting Booed Off Stage For Rapping "Lose Yourself" At The Rookie Talent Show

Let's just get it out--there aren't many white corners in the NFL. Barely any, to be exact. So it was a monumental accomplishment for for Cooper DeJean to get drafted 40th overall in this past April's NFL Draft. Unfortunately for DeJean, he's starting his first NFL training camp on the NFI list after suffering a hamstring injury while training. That already puts the rookie at a disadvantage, but there was a lot of chatter about DeJean playing a pretty significant role on this defense right out of the gate. So the injury would slow down his development, but the Eagles still have high hopes for the kid.

That might be all out the window now after watching his performance at the Eagles rookie talent show. I mean if you're going to be one of the very few white cornerbacks in the history of the NFL, at the very least you need to be able to absolutely crush any Eminem karaoke selection. It's not like a lineman going up there and being able to belt out some Luke Combs. Cooper DeJean needed to make the team feel like Marshall Mathers was actually in the NovaCare Complex with them last night. And he failed to the point where he was booed off the stage and had his teammates throwing shit at him on his way out.

I'm not saying there's no hope for his career after this. But what I am saying is that if I'm an opposing quarterback, I'm throwing his way the first chance I get after watching that performance. Here's to hoping he can strap better than he can rap.
