High School Hockey Is So Crazy In Minnesota That We Had A Double Glass Break Celebration From A Student Section

The calendars have flipped over to March which means one thing and one thing only--it's time for the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament to start revving up.

One of the best tournaments of the year across all sports. I know that high school football is king down in Texas, but high school hockey in Minnesota can give it a run for its money. Those kids dream of playing in this tournament from the moment they first touch a sheet of ice. The players dream of that moment, and the student sections make that atmosphere ridiculously tough for any other high school tournament to compete against.

But this student section may have just set the bar for rowdiness moving forward after taking out not just one, but two panes of glass during this celebration.

Okay now listen. Is this a bit excessive? Absolutely. I'm not saying we need students causing damage to every hockey rink in America just to keep up with this student section. But from what I've gathered, this is going to be Century/JM's first trip back to the State Tourney in 15 years after winning their section. The boys are just a little too juiced. They didn't mean to bring the glass down, but they were just too fired up about the fellas going to the tourney. That's what school pride is all about. Those are the moments that you live for as a high school kid getting to celebrate with everyone you grew up with in your community. You spend 18 years growing up with all these guys and now you're heading to State? Of course you're going to get a little carried away.

Reckless, sure. Malicious? Not in the slightest. Just the boys getting a little carried away. If a few panes of glass need to shatter in order to get to moments like this, then that's just a small price to pay.

Congrats to Century/JM. Now here's to hoping the fellas get the hair in order to play on the biggest stage of their careers so far.
