Leave Ross Tucker Alone! Baked Beans Can Absolutely Go On Pizza
Ross Tucker is currently in Massachusetts getting ready to call the Army v Navy game. He stopped into a brewery last night for a few drinks and a bite to eat. Seems pretty standard and harmless enough. However, upon gazing at the menu and finally making a decision, Ross Tucker set the world ablaze by his order--A linguica and baked beans pizza.
From far and wide across all of Twitter, folks on the internet had to shield their eyes in horror. They simply couldn't comprehend what type of heathen would do such a thing. People claiming that Ross Tucker should be thrown in jail for ordering such a monstrosity.
These people simply just lack the vision.
I've never understood when people are so vehemently against certain toppings on pizza. You'll mostly get that reaction when talking about pineapple on pizza. But there are these people out there who don't really seem to understand the point of pizza.
Pizza is incredible. If we're talking about the Food Hall of Fame, pizza is getting in there on the first ballot. What makes pizza so incredible is how basic it is. It's just dough, sauce, and cheese. Pizza on its own is delicious, but at the end of the day it's really a vessel for toppings. Because it's so simple, you can go fucking nuts and throw any topping you want on there, and it will probably work. Obviously some toppings are going to work better than others--pepperoni, sausage, etc. But if you're doing it right, you can make pretty much anything work.
I have to imagine that linguica and baked beans works. You've got the sweetness from the tomato sauce, the saltiness from the linguica, and probably a smoky flavor from the baked beans that ties it all together. It's bar pizza so you've got that little crunch on the undercarriage, a little crunch from the linguica, and that gives you the ability to have the softness of the beans. You're layering flavors, you're layering textures, and....it's pizza. It's going to be delicious regardless.
Anyways--it's a slow Friday, so there are a bunch of words about an NFL broadcaster ordering a weird pizza.
