Nick Castellanos Constantly Obliterating Baseballs With His Son In The Crowd Is The Best Thing In Sports Right Now

Nick Castellanos is in a flow state right now. Every night he puts on his uniform, walks up to the plate, and violently launches a baseball over the wall. He became the first player in MLB history to have back-to-back multi homerun games in the postseason to close out the NLDS. How did he follow that up in game 1 of the LCS? Right where he left off with an oppo taco in his first at-bat of the night. Those poor fans in left field, man.

He's now the only player besides Reggie Jackson to hit 5 home runs over a 3-game span in the postseason. Funny enough, I bet if you added up the distances of all Castellanos' home runs this season, you could probably get from Citizens Bank Park to Reggie Jackson's hometown of Cheltenham, PA.

But that's besides the point. Because as much as a tear that Nick Castellanos has been on as a baseball player right now, he's crushing it even more as a dad.

I mean...come on. How could it possibly get any better than that? Liam Castellanos has been along for the ride for most of this season. He lives in Florida but spent most of the summer up here in Philly, and was around for when his old man went on that streak to hit his 200th career home run.

And he's been around for this entire postseason ride so far, getting the best seat in the house to watch his dad quite literally make history up there one ridiculous swing of the bat at a time.

All you want to do as a parent is give your kid great experiences. Memories they'll look back on and say to themselves, "my parents really gave me a great life". And I'm sure that anyone who is a parent reading this blog right now has been doing their best to achieve that, but…I mean…how are you supposed to compete with Nick Castellanos giving his son this insane postseason run? It's checkmate. All you can do is just tip your cap to the man.

And the best part about it is you can tell how much it means to him. He rarely has any interest in talking to reporters about how he's playing. Any time he gets asked about this streak he's on, he just brings up the fact that the job's not over and they still have more games to win. But just look at the way this man lights up, and chokes up, the moment the conversation turns to talking about playing in front of his son.

I know the internet will always remember Nick Castellanos as the guy who hits home runs whenever someone important dies, but here's to hoping they always remember this side of him too. Good news is that there are still 7 more games to win to really drive that home.
