Jordan Mailata Singing "Alright" With Darius Rucker Should Count As A Super Bowl For The Philadelphia Eagles
I know the Kansas City Chiefs just got their Super Bowl rings this past weekend, but if they had an ounce of integrity they would give them back right now. I mean Patrick Mahomes has a top 3 worst voice on planet Earth. The guy sounds like he's in a constant state of gargling.
Meanwhile, Jordan Mailata has the voice of an angel. So much so that Darius Rucker decided he had to hand the mic over to this man when "Alright" came up on the set list, because he knew the big fella could do it as much justice as anybody. An all-time summer jam from an all-time summer artist, and Darius Rucker essentially just passed the torch to Mailata. There are hundreds of guys in the NFL who have won a Super Bowl at some point in their career. But the amount of players who have crushed an on-stage performance with Darius Rucker? That might be the most exclusive club in all of sports, and now Jordan Mailata is at the very top. Not Tom Brady, not Patrick Mahomes, not Jim Plunkett, not a single one of those fuckers. Not even Dan Marino, who threw the most uncatchable ball ever to Hootie in the "Only Wanna Be With You" music video.
People don't forget. One of the most heartbreaking dropped passes there ever was.
Sidenote: I have a feeling Jordan Mailata would crush a cover of Luke Combs covering Tracy Chapman's Fast Car. Need to make that happen.
Go Birds.
