"Superman" Is Officially A Tony Hawk Song Now After Performing It On Stage With Goldfinger
And that, my friends, is what a passing of the torch looks like.
For years now "Superman" has been a Tony Hawk-adjacent track. You hear it come on and your mind is instantly transported to the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater main screen. You're choosing between Bucky Lasek or Chad Muska and about to drop into the Warehouse. The moment your brain registers the drums in the intro, the only thing you can think about is getting the secret tape above the halfpipe.
But at the end of the day, it was still "Superman" by Goldfinger. That all changed over the weekend when Tony Hawk walked out on stage with Goldfinger to perform the song himself.
From this moment forward, it's "Superman" by Tony Hawk feat. Goldfinger.
Quick sidenote here but The Bracket put out a "Most Universally Liked" bracket last week and I have to say that Tony Hawk might be the biggest snub in the history of snubs here.
It's not even like Tony Hawk would be a bubble team in this tournament. He should be the 1-seed. At the very least, he's a top 4. Find me one person in the world who has a single bad thing to say about Tony Hawk. This man went from being one of the most prolific athletes in the world, to giving an entire generation some of the best moments of their childhood playing his video game, and now in his later stages of life has become the most likable dude on the planet. Whether it's his run in's with fans who kinda sorta think they recognize him.

Or going out on stage with a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater cover band to perform "Superman" back in the summer.
Or sitting down to do an interview with me a few years ago about Bagel Bites and continued to stick around even though my WiFi connection was absolute dog shit and kept cutting out the whole time.
