The Sky Ball Is The Most Electric Serve In Beach Volleyball

I've spent many a summer Saturday playing beach volleyball growing up. Granted, it would end up being like 7v7 beach volleyball on the Jersey Shore so the stakes were a little different. But the moral of the story is that everybody wants to be the guy who can throw down a heavy overhand serve. To send an absolute piss missile over to the other side so violent that even if it were to be returned, whoever ended up on the receiving end of that serve would have forearms as red as a lobster.

The only issue is that we weren't very good. So you might get lucky here and there with a good serve. But for the most part you're either drilling the net or you're sending that ball 30 yards out of bounds. After a while you start to think to yourself is it really worth it trying to serve overhand if you're just going to lose the point right away? If you're playing to win, the answer is no. So you switch things up a bit and you serve underhand. You feel like a total fucking dweeb, but you need the points. It's the common man's serve.

And here we have Adrian Carambula. The Uruguayan-Italian Olympian out here bringing the sky ball serve to the masses. He's playing the highest level of beach volleyball as possible, and it's sky ball city. Buddy doesn't give one single shit about whether you like it or not. He's sending that ball to the moon and now it's your problem. Overhand is for hardos, moon shots are for all the common men out there who just want to have a good time. What's there to not love about that? The answer is nothing.
