Awesome: Cop Starts Giving Student A Drinking Ticket So Everyone Starts Giving Him Money To Pay It Off
Awesome. This is what being in college is all about. Under no other set of circumstances would a police officer ever let this fly. He knew he was outnumbered. He knew things easily could’ve gotten ugly. He understood the big picture and for that he deserves credit. Because at the end of the day, what happened? One kid out of the five thousand who were drinking stepped on the sidewalk with an open container? Give me a break. There are bigger fish to fry- even for the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse campus PD. The only reason he wrote the ticket in the first place was because he was obligated to. You can’t tell, but if I had to guess, he was probably smiling while he wrote it. How could he not with all these drunk, happy-go-lucky goons cheering him on?
I’m thirty years old and NEVER miss college, but videos like these give me the feels. We were down in Athens, GA for the #NattyTour last week and it’s honestly a different world. All these kids are living in a fantasy land and to go down there and be a part of it brings me back to my time at UMass. Everything was so simple. So fun. No one cared about anything other than having a good time. It was like a breath of fresh air.
As for the students who gave him money, every single one of them deserves a round of applause. Money is no joke in college and I’m sure more than one of those kids is going without dinner due to their intoxicated generosity. You could hear the one guy debating over giving him a five versus a one. I love it. Best of luck to this kid and God bless everyone in that video.
