Noted Jock Kendrick Perkins Doesn't Care About Star Wars At All

The best part of this postseason, for my money and my money only, has been the resurgence of Kendrick Perkins in the international spotlight. First, it came from threatening Drake’s life repeatedly. A true shame those coward Raptors weren’t able to force that series back to Toronto for more Perk-Aubrey dust ups but what’s done is done. Then last night, Disney pushed some viral marketing on everyone by sitting Chewbacca courtside for some forced promo for “Solo” coming out this week.

Kevin Love, a nerd, seemed nervous playing in front of his furry idol as he was only able to shoot 4/12 from the field. But the Cavs won in a route, so it didn’t make headlines as it would’ve had the Cavs lost, so of course the first thing he wanted to do when he got back to the locker room was talk about Chewbacca knowing the reporters wouldn’t be all over him. For reasons I cannot understand, he decided to try and bond with Perk over this.

Kendrick Perkins is a jock. Kevin Love is a nerd. It is Kendrick Perkins’ duty to give Kevin Love a hard time for being such a dweeb. Perk isn’t some fancy college boy who had all the time in the world to lallygag and watch movies in a dorm room. He was too busy cashing checks playing in the NBA straight out of high school for all that noise. And I see a lot of people giving Perk a hard time for calling Star Wars “new stuff”. Uhh, last I checked the Earth is millions of years old. Star Wars came out in 1977. Relatively speaking Chewbacca is new as shit. That’s the type of galaxy brain, large scale thinking you can only find in jock. And all of this is really to point out the biggest fundamental flaw with the Cavs. Their second best player is focused on some nerd movie coming out this week while their assistant coach/technically still a player is focused on winning basketball games and fighting celebrity fans of opposing teams. If Ty Lue ever pulls his head out of his rear and gets Perk in the starting lineup the Celtics are cooked.
