Francesa Officially Back From 3pm-7pm Just To Murder Michael Kay

NYDN – Unless there is a last-minute snag in the negotiations, Mike (Sports Pope) Francesa will soon return to WFAN, the Daily News has learned. Francesa will be back in the 3 p.m.-7 p.m. slot, according to well-embedded Hudson Street (FAN Headquarters) rats. The sources said the 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. slot will be divided between Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts, currently FAN’s 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. team, and CMB, aka Chris Carlin, Maggie Gray and Bart Scott, who replaced Francesa earlier this year. Sources did not know Francesa’s exact starting date, but said it would be soon.

Welp, that took 25 seconds. 7am we’re hearing rumblings that Mike is going to demand to come back to FAN, by 10:30 its unofficially official. Oh and would you look at that, its the exact same time slot as Michael Kay. LOLOLOLOL. Mike is coming out of retirement just to crush Michael Kay again. It took ONE ratings book for Michael Kay and ESPN to edge out WFAN and now the Ruler’s Back. Back from a long hiatus of like 3 goddam months to reestablish dominance and reclaim that numbah one spot. Greatness doesnt stop. Greatness can’t just “retire.” Greatness is a personality trait. Its a piece of you that needs to be watered and fed and acknowledged and satiated or it runs wild like a weed and takes over your life. Mike Francesa will die in that chair. He will keel over mid rant about the Mets manager in 2045. This isnt just a job to him. Its life. Dominating idiot callers and insignificant rivals…giving cookies to the mongos…hello deah’ing all over the joint…these are the things that make Mike Francesa’s heartbeat. Thats what makes his blood bump. As long as he’s got a voice and a foil, Mike Francesa aint going anywhere.

PS – Id say its like 90% dominating Michael Kay, 10% hearing that Barstool Radio owned the 4pm to 6pm slot on Sirius XM Power 85. He caught wind that Dave Portnoy’s stories about his American Express points were owning talk radio and knew he had to save his legacy.
