Ian Happ Puts The First Pitch Of The 2018 Season Into The Seats And Baseball Season Is Officially Underway

You can look at this a couple of different ways — both of which are completely valid. First and foremost, it’s about to be yet another magical season for the Chicago Cubs. Secondly, it’s about to be a looooooong fucking season for the Miami Marlins after they completely decimated their roster this past winter. Their Opening Day lineup is just a sad, sad state of affairs. Somebody fire up the petition to move the Marlins franchise to Montreal. I’ll sign that thing so fast it’ll make your head spin. But above all else, after hitting 24 bombs in 115 games last year, that Ian Happ home run on the first pitch of the 2018 season was the cutting of the ribbon to officially open up baseball season, and welcome this great game back to our television screens, our home ballparks and back into our hearts. Happy Opening Day, indeed!
