8-Year-Old Star Wars Fan Evan Has To Wear A Mask During His Brain Tumor Treatment, So He Was Made A SICK Clone Trooper One

I really love seeing stories like this on the ever-so-narcissistic 2018 internet. It put me in such a great mood that I won’t even call out ABC for not knowing the difference between a Stormtrooper and a Clone Trooper (what morons). Cancer’s a big evil Empire that everyone deals with in one way or another in this world, but if Evan’s the one we’re following into battle I’m feeling pretty good about the Rebellion’s chances. You can tell from just this one minute video that he’s an absolute warrior and I think Captain Rex (who’s armor he is wearing) would be proud to see the bravery and strength Evan displays.

You can also get a pretty good sense of how warm and welcoming the Star Wars community is from the Stormtrooper escort Evan got to his treatment room. That’d be the work of the 501st Legion in particular, who operate as a non-profit and consist of folks who build themselves screen-accurate costumes from the franchise and make appearances in children’s hospitals on the reg, but almost all Star Wars fans have the same brother/sisterhood. Star Wars Celebration in Orlando this year with Clem was one of the best experiences of my life because we were surrounded by the nicest people we’ve ever met. Sure, the fanbase can get NASTY online while bickering over the smallest intricate details of every single frame in the history of the saga, but when there’s one common enemy in sight, we do a pretty good job of staying on target.

Keep fighting Evan, the Force will be with you.

If anyone has info on Evan and can put me in touch with him/his family, please email me at fox@barstoolsports.com. I’d like to send some cool Star Wars swag his way.
