While We're Doing Questions, What's Your Worst Fear? Mine Is Being In The Crowd For KoRn At Woodstock '99

Everybody’s got one. For some, it’s heights. For others, it’s clowns. Some just don’t like spiders. Personally, my greatest fear is being in the crowd for KoRn at Woodstock ’99. I never want to be in that crowd. Just look at it.

I go to a lot of concerts, particularly rock n’ roll concerts, and I always make a conscious effort to stay far away from “the pit”. Even at the tamest of pop punk shows, my frame just ain’t built for moshing. I got elbowed in the temple at a Red Jumpsuit Apparatus show when I was like 12 and punched in the jaw by a large woman during a Piece The Veil set at Warped Tour the next year for being too close to the edge of the pit, so I’m all set. That was all the abuse this feminine looking face could handle for a lifetime. At Woodstock ’99, though? You can’t choose to stay away from the pit. You are the pit. There is no escape. You’re moshing whether you like it or not.

Scary. As. Fuck.

P.S. Since we were talking great covers today, how about KoRn doing Cameo’s ‘Word Up’? Seriously. It weirdly works and it’s a jam.
