'The Cloverfield Paradox', An Apparent Cloverfield Prequel, Will Be Availible to Stream On Netflix AS SOON AS THE SUPER BOWL IS OVER

HOLY FUCKING SHIT! I would’ve had this blog up sooner but I just hyperventilated. This is my Super Bowl.

I’ve written at length on this site about my love for everything JJ Abrams does, including – and especially – the Cloverfield franchise. The first Cloverfield is my favorite monster movie ever. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite movies ever. It’s a completely exhausting experience to watch, and it’s not for everyone, but it checks every single box of what I love in a movie. The follow up, ’10 Cloverfield Lane’, a “blood relative” of the original, never truly referenced the first one, it just expanded on how wild this supernatural universe could get, and it was fucking fantastic. John Goodman deserved an Oscar nomination for it. It’s tense, it keeps you guessing on the edge of your seat the entire movie, it’s scary, it’s fun, it’s once again, everything I love in a film. The announcement that ‘The Cloverfield Paradox’ (FKA ‘God Particle’, read about that here and here) is going to be available on Netflix the second the Super Bowl ends is by far going to be the thing I remember the most about this year’s big game, and just further proof that nobody does viral marketing like the folks at Bad Robot Productions. I can’t fucking wait for this movie. Pats…Eagles…

See you for the Monday Morning Movie Review tomorrow at 10am, everyone!
