Hey Philly.com, Maybe We Should Try To Keep The Aaron Hernandez Takes Out Of The Super Bowl Coverage
And just like that, Bob Brookover of Philly.com/The Philadelphia Inquirer took over the lead for absolute worst headline of all time. Now, to be fair, it’s usually the editors who write the headlines instead of the “journalist” themselves. But Bob Brookover is the click-baiting mongoloid who brought the idea up in his article so yeah, Slobby Bobby should probably take the rest of the week/year/life off after this one.
For those of you who are unaware, the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philly.com are failing. That’s not me trying to be like Trump calling the New York Times the Failing New York Times. It’s just a fact. Ever since Philly.com put up a paywall, I don’t know a single person who actually reads that shit. Pretty much the only people left there are the old bastards with tenure like Brookover. The type of media members who get off on telling new media members they don’t have “access” to the players and therefore they could never do their job. The type of media members who bitch about games going to overtime because they have a deadline, even though a half-trained monkey could do their job in 15 minutes or less. But every once in a while, they need to put out a take so preposterous that everybody has to remember that they exist. So while eating his daily breakfast at his nearest Denny’s, Bob Brookover penned his click-bait masterpiece.

Spygate and Deflategate fall into those categories, but the one subject they want to skirt more than any other is the violent and tragic career of the late Aaron Hernandez. Perhaps that’s because Hernandez’s draft selection, despite bright red flags everywhere, is a reflection of how winning means everything to the Patriots and no cost is too high…
Right off the bat, you know this is going to be a ride. Spygate. Deflategate. Hernandez. This article is a light and the clicks are like moths.
…Rob Gronkowski, who is expected to play in Sunday’s game against the Eagles despite suffering a concussion in the Patriots’ AFC championship victory, had been taken two rounds ahead of Hernandez in the 2010 draft, but the Patriots made it clear there was room for two star tight ends during the summer before the 2012 season…The two would only play one season together before Hernandez’s life spiraled into the abyss amid multiple murder charges and the 2015 conviction for the killing of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. By then, the Patriots had long since expunged Hernandez from their existence.
…The shame of the matter is that the Patriots, and specifically coach Bill Belichick, acted as if they could not possibly know something so awful would ever happen despite the fact that Hernandez had a troubled past at the University of Florida and in his hometown of Bristol, Conn.
Bringing up Gronk’s concussion is obviously playing to the fact that Aaron Hernandez had CTE so Bobby Boy is already planting the seeds for his next masterpiece if Gronk takes another big headshot on Sunday. Gotta say, that’s a pretty savvy move. But here’s what I don’t get. What the fuck is the point of writing any of this right now? I mean people have already given their takes on Hernandez before. Saying the Patriots are a little scummy for employing Hernandez even though they probably knew he wasn’t a great guy isn’t anything new. But with the Patriots playing against the Eagles in the Super Bowl, Bobbo knows those clicks are going to be flowing like the syrup at Denny’s. So instead of writing something new or interesting about the upcoming Super Bowl, he decides to use the disastrous spiral of a man’s life and the murder of others to get those clicks. Veteran move.
Once he no longer could help them, it became a sin to even speak the name Aaron Hernandez. Maybe it’s not a coincidence that the NFL team that has had the most success in this century also had to deal with the league’s greatest tragedy.
Seriously, man. What the fuck? Odin Lloyd was murdered. Aaron Hernandez killed himself in jail. And Bob Brookover is looking to rake in some Patriots Hate Clicks from Eagles fans during Super Bowl Week. Saying that a murder and a suicide deserved to happen to anybody/any team is such a bizarre take. Everybody realizes how disgusting that is, right? Okay, good. Glad we’re all on the same page.
