IGN- Paramount has confirmed that Cloverfield 3 – currently known as the Untitled Cloverfield Sequel, and formerly God Particle – has had its release date pushed back once again, and will now be premiering in theaters April 20, 2018.

This is the third time that the movie’s release date has been pushed back. Originally scheduled for release February 24, 2017, the film was pushed back to October, and then again switched to a February 2, 2018 release.

Aw damn. ‘God Particle’ has been pushed back for the 3rd time, now to April 20th (blaze it). It’s also officially not called ‘God Particle’ anymore, and is going by ‘Untitled Cloverfield Sequel’ for now. I wonder what the deal is, because production wrapped, according to Wikipedia, on September 23rd, 2016. Could they not get a trailer together? Is the movie still in post production? Is there no marketing money so they’re trying to muster some up? What’s going on?

I spoke to some people yesterday who apparently are “in the know” about this ‘Untitled Cloverfield Sequel’, and they described it as a throwaway for the studio, who don’t really give a shit about it, but also clued me in on the plot a bit, and it seems cool! Apparently (stop reading here if you don’t want to know the basic concept of the film), it takes place after 10 Cloverfield Lane’s alien invasion, in the midst of a war between America and the European Union. A team of American astronauts make a desperate attempt to save humanity by using something called the “God Particle”, which wipes the Earth out. Not like, kills everyone, but makes the entire planet disappear. All time fuck up. Can’t even imagine how rapidly they try to hit ‘Command+Z’ over and over again. They are then approached by a spaceship from the EU, and allow the astronauts on board, and everyone starts killing each other.

Tell me you wouldn’t watch the shit out of that movie! Hopefully we’re able to on April 20th, but who knows at this point. I feel like it’s more probable that the actual plot details of the movie play out in real life before we see it on the big screen.
