The Russians Of Course Used Pokémon Go To Fuck With Our Election

CNN Money Russian efforts to meddle in American politics did not end at Facebook and Twitter. A CNN investigation of a Russian-linked account shows its tentacles extended to YouTube, Tumblr and even Pokémon Go.

One Russian-linked campaign posing as part of the Black Lives Matter movement used Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr and Pokémon Go and even contacted some reporters in an effort to exploit racial tensions and sow discord among Americans, CNN has learned.

The campaign, titled “Don’t Shoot Us,” offers new insights into how Russian agents created a broad online ecosystem where divisive political messages were reinforced across multiple platforms, amplifying a campaign that appears to have been run from one source — the shadowy, Kremlin-linked troll farm known as the Internet Research Agency.

Look if you downloaded Pokémon Go which tracks your precise location and tells you exactly where to go and didn’t expect the Russians to take control of your life and sign you up for crazy ass groups then you’re an idiot. A moron. Of course there’s a Swordfish team in some Kremlin basement meticulously studying American politics and using Pokémon Go like puppet strings to send people certain places and to fuck with our election. And you know what? That’s just the price you pay. That’s what you sign up for. If you’ve had enough reality and want to exist in some Pokémon Go Matrix alternate reality, that’s fine. But you gotta realize and accept you’re at the will of the someone else and that someone else just so happens to be the Russians. You can’t be surprised when the new Pokémons names start ending with “ov.” You can’t be surprised when the app directs you to start “lock her up” chants in poli-sci lecture in order to capture Tinkachuov. Pokémon Go your dick off if you’d like, just know that you’ve giving it all up to Putin. You’re in Vladdy’s hands now. Mindlessly zombie yourself around chasing digital made up creatures if you want — sounds like a blissfully sweet life — but just know that there’s a method to the madness and that method has itself a serious puppet master.

Russian President Putin visits Voronezh

PS — Apparently Fake News CNN is taking some heat for saying Pokémon Go was used but also saying there is no evidence Pokémon Go was used.

PPS — PokéMAN Go, never forget.
