I Can't Imagine Why People Keep Calling 911 After Seeing This Halloween Decoration

BBC- A local US police department has urged people not to call 911 after reports that a man had been crushed by a garage door. The supposed victim in Greene County, Tennessee, turned out to be a scarily realistic, early Halloween decoration. The department said it had received calls about a “suspicious person lying in a driveway with bloody handprints on the garage”. Officers investigated, only to find it was a puppet stuffed with straw. Greene County TN Sheriff’s Department wrote on Facebook: “ATTENTION EVERYONE!!! For those of you driving on Chuckey Pike in Greene County: THIS IS A HALLOWEEN DECORATION!

Hmmmmm shocking stuff here. People are FREAKING out and repeatedly calling 911 after seeing that Halloween decoration? Well I just cannot believe that. This leads to the question, how early is too early to start putting up Halloween decorations? It feels too early.  It is certainly too early to be putting up Halloween decorations that make it look like there’s a headless dead dude trapped under your garage door. And the fact that the people who did this are like, “Come on guy! It’s just a decoration!” is crazy. That’d be like putting a Christmas wreath up on your house in early November and being like, “Come on guys! It’s just a decoration!” People aren’t even thinking about Halloween yet. Sure, there’s Halloween candy in the stores but that makes sense because people just want candy. There is no time and place for candy. Candy is good 24/7/365. They could start selling Halloween candy in January and I’d grab a couple bags. And honestly, that “decoration” is so jarring that I could see it on the day of Halloween and would still call 911.
