Chuck Schumer Caught On Hot Mic Giddy As Hell About Trump Liking Him

Jesus Christ Chuck act like you’ve been there before man. Can’t just drop right down and start sucking dick the second Timmy from the grade above says he likes your shoes. Hold those cards close to the chest for me one time. Play hard to get. Make him earn it. One little Chinese food dinner at the White House and Chuck’s running up and down the Senate floor tapping everybody he sees on the shoulder, “zomg he likes me, zomg he likes me.”

The context here is that over the past week or so Donnie has buddied up with Chuck Schumer (Senate minority leader) and Nancy Pelosi (House minority leader). He’s had some meetings and, Wednesday night, hosted them at the White House for a little Chinese food (no joke, he and Schumer’s thing they kind of agree on is Chinese trade or something, so Trump made sure they had Chinese food for dinner; diabolical move).

Trump appears to have had a revelation recently, awakening to the fact that despite having control of the White House, the Senate, and the House, he can’t just forcefully do whatever he wants. He can’t pass whatever he wants to pass. He NEEDS Democrats on some level, so he’s schmoozing up, making some compromises, and discussing some deals.

This is unequivocally good for the country. The only people not happy about this are lunatics like Ann Coulter and the Breitbart folks, who called him “Amnesty Don.” Damn near everybody else understands that the more you try to jam partisan shit down America’s throat, the more divisiveness you create, the less you get done, and the quick you march toward getting absolutely destroyed in the 2018 midterms, the 2020 election, and squandering all that cool control you thought you had.

Compromise is an essential ingredient to accomplishment in our democracy. Always has been, always will be (hopefully). The Founding Fathers were smart as fuck and realized that better than anyone. Nobody likes giving stuff up, especially when their beliefs run firm on an issue; however, compromise inevitably lines any path to getting shit done in our governmental system.

Fortunately — at least in this here specific case — Trump appears to be realizing this.

Good on ya, Don. Good on ya.
