McDonalds Is Denying All Allegations Of Fry-Shorting After Rogue Employee Takes To Reddit

Source-  According to a Reddit thread called ‘What did your job ask you to hide from customers’, a number of people purporting to work for the burger giants say that they have a way a sly way of making sure you don’t get your rightful amount of chips.

‘I worked at McDonald’s and they taught me how to pinch the fry carton just right while putting the fries into them so that it looked full, but actually wasn’t,’ says one whistleblower.

But they’re not the only ones who claim that pinching the carton is a tried, tested and encouraged method at McDonald’s.

‘I f***ing hated that practice and basically refused to do it,’ writes another employee. ‘Never got fired, but managed to have a few customers ask me when my shifts were the next week so they could have me filling their fries.’

But, obviously, McDonald’s refutes the claims. A spokesperson for the chain says: ‘We believe these claims to be fictional, there are no “secret tricks” and we have strict operational procedures in place to ensure that fry portions are not under-filled’.

Truth be told I’m a big fast food guy. Despite my slender, slightly feminine frame I can eat an ungodly amount of processed meats. It’s nothing I’m proud of but facts are facts. The binge usually takes place in the wee hours of the morning after a long night at the library but that’s neither here nor there.  As a seasoned consumer, I’ve become familiar with the tricks of the trade. Air pockets in a soft serve and too much ice in a soda come with the territory. But pinching the container? May as well be taking money from my pocket. I always wondered why they spill the fries in the bag. They were robbing me. Creating the illusion of plenty. I was fine with it too. Dodging empty catsup packets on my way to the “extra fries” was part of the fun.

Of course, McDonalds denies the allegations. Which is a bold move considering the incriminating graphic created by one of the whistle blowers.

Strong verbiage from the one-hundred-billion dollar fast food giant. Sounds like they’re really worried. They’ve got an uphill battle ahead of them if they want to get back in the publics good graces. Remember what happened when Super Size Me came out? (Their business surged.) What a shame to think I was blaming the scoopers when this whole time it was the man. At any rate, look for big policy changes in the future. Great job, Reddit!
