So Now Kathy Griffin is Saying She's NOT Sorry. Again.

Kathy Griffin2

USA TodayKathy Griffin isn’t sorry anymore.

The comedian took back her apology for the stunt in which she held up a fake severed head of President Trump while being interviewed this week in Australia.

“I’m no longer sorry. The whole outrage was BS. The whole thing got so blown out of proportion,” said Griffin on Australia’s Sunrise show. …

[She lost] her regular gig hosting their New Year’s Eve program with Anderson Cooper and her national tour was canceled. Griffin recently revealed she and Cooper are no longer friends.

“I lost everybody. I had Chelsea Clinton tweeting against me. I had friends – Debra Messing from Will and Grace was tweeting against me,” said Griffin on the news show.

“I didn’t just lose one night on CNN. My entire tour was canceled within 24 hours because every single theater got all these death threats. These Trump fans, they’re hardcore.”

You think you’ve got problems? Feeling sorry for yourself because flood waters are up to your second story bedroom and you’ve lost things you’ll never be able to replace? You’re worried about you own shit just because a raging lunatic is lobbing missiles over the place your 21-year-old is stationed?

Get over yourself. Get your priorities right. Kathy Griffin lost Anderson Cooper, Chelsea Clinton and Debra Messing, all at the same time. Not to mention that tour of theaters that I’m sure would’ve been packed to Fire Code capacity from an America desperate to get a taste of her groundbreaking, cutting edge wit.

Obviously this nothing but a blatant, desperate attempt to get back whatever passed for Kathy Griffin relevancy. There’s no one among us who doesn’t see that. But even if you were to take her word for it that now she’s being defiant and she’s not sorry that she’s not sorry, doesn’t this confirm that she is the worst rebel of all time? First she played the Artistic License Card, demanding we all accept her right to free expression. Fine. If you want to stand your ground I can respect that. But then she backed off and apologized. Next she played the Victim Card. Then quickly doubled down with the Female Victim Card, complete with tear-filled press conference sitting next to some store brand generic equivalent of Gloria Allred. Then came a blissful Kathy Griffin-free summer for all of us. Now she’s back, trying to reclaim the edginess she apologized for and cried away months ago. Fucking pathetic and stinking of desperation.

The thing is, if you’re a comic and you want to work on the edge and have even a milligram of balls, you goddamned stand your ground. Lenny Bruce. Richard Pryor. George Carlin. Just to name a few. Guys like that faced death threats and lost gigs over the controversial stuff they did. Stuff that, by the way, happened to be really funny and changed comedy forever. But they didn’t back away as soon as there was some blowback. They didn’t apologize and for sure they didn’t lawyer up and cry about it.

So now this ginger attention whore is now un-apologizing until the next time it will get her some mentions to re-re-apologize. Only I won’t be blogging it after this. How can we miss you, Kathy Griffin, when you won’t go away?
