I Think I'm A Charley Hoffman Fan After His "I'm Tired Of Finishing Second" Comment

So this happened yesterday at the Bridgestone Invitational. Charley Hoffman was three back with three to go on the 16th hole. His caddy was telling him to lay up and Hoffman was like, “Fuck that shit. I’m sick of finishing second” and launched an absolute rocket. Now listen, I’ve shit on Hoffman is the past for being boring. He was atop the Masters leaderboard when we were down there and I could not have been rooting harder for him to stumble and fall. There’s just more interesting guys on Tour who I want in the mix at a major. But I refuse to hate on a guy for going for it all. Especially by telling off his caddy and doing it his way. Did it matter? No it did not. It did not matter at all. Hideki Matusyama blew the doors off everyone and shot a ridiculous 61 on Sunday. Hoffman ended up SIX shots back in third place. He didn’t even come close to winning. But the point remains. I’ll always like a guy who goes for broke. Even Charley Hoffman.
