The Phillies Have Devolved To Chucking Bats To Create Distractions And Score Runs

They say you’ll always see something new at the ballpark that you’ve never seen before. I can certainly say this has never, ever happened in the history of organized baseball. And to be honest, this strategy of just hurling your stick when a runner is on base couldn’t hurt the Phillies at this point. They have the worst record in the Majors – by FAR. Almost all of their up and coming “Talent” are either hurt or are playing like they deserve to be shipped back to the Minors. Maybe even the womb. This didn’t even help them out as they fell 6-3 to the Pirates. At least off the field the Phillies organization is on point and didn’t light the post-game fireworks in the middle of the 7th inning or anything. Oh, of course they did. Nothing like standing in the OF and thinking you’re getting shelled by artillery fire. Abner Double day would possibly approve.

TBF to the time Mike Schmidt scored from 1st in a somewhat legitimate way. Old school baseball heads still talk about this play. David Cone. Gary Carter. Throwback Phillies uni’s. Those were some days.
