Rudy Gobert Singing "These Hoes Ain't Loyal" After Gordon Hayward Signed With The Celtics Is Another Reason The NBA Offseason Is The Best
Just when I think the NBA offseason can’t be any more entertaining, we get a star of the league calling his ex-teammate a hoe and I realize that we haven’t even scratched the surface of how fun the offseason can be. This shit is legitimately more entertaining than some actual sports. Subtweets and emoji wars were apparently just the beginning. I mean it’s clear what happened here. Rudy Gobert went to war with Celtics and Heat fans on Twitter a couple of days ago with his emoji tweet
Any now he’s clearly upset that Hayward left him stranded in Utah to compete against like 90% of the best players of the NBA in the Western Conference. And I don’t blame Gobert one bit. He probably was on the emotional roller coaster that all Celtics fans were living through on my timeline with rumors that Hayward hadn’t decided yet. And then once Hayward did decide, he happened to have a 2,000+ word thesis about his decision all ready to rock. That was almost longer than a Charlie Wisco blog dissecting a Game of Thrones episode. I may have gone full Grudge Rudy and mixed in some Hit’em Up in that video if I was Gobert. Or maybe just maybe let a B-word or two fly.
I also realized that shitshows like yesterday are a lot more fun when your team isn’t involved. It’s like a playoff game. If your team wins, you are obviously happy as fuck after all the stress. But if your team loses or seems to fuck up epically (a la Carlos Gomez to the Mets), you want to put a bullet in your head. Even Chris Haynes, the reporter that initially broke Hayward to Boston, had fun with everything.
….Five hours later and after Haywward officially announced he was leaving, as well as countless “Chris Haynes is going to get murdered if he was wrong” tweets later….
Add in that Woj appears to have lost his fastball after signing a max contract with the big market team while his old coworker Shams Charania scoops him like ice cream whenever he gets the chance, and this is as fun as any of the wild offseasons of the last few years. But I am starting to really worry about Woj.
God I love the fucking NBA offseason.
