Source - Serena Williams, who is due to give birth to her first child in September, is on the August cover of Vanity Fair in stunning nude pregnancy photos. The photos were taken by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz, while the story chronicles her relationship with fiancée Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of the website Reddit. Williams is a winner of 23 grand slam singles tournaments, plus 14 doubles titles with her sister Venus and has won an estimated $84 million on the court.

The 35-year-old Williams found out she was pregnant right before the Australian Open in January after taking six pregnancy test. “Oh my God, this can’t be—I’ve got to play a tournament,” Williams said to Vanity Fair. “How am I going to play the Australian Open? I had planned on winning Wimbledon this year.”

She also said she knew the proposal from Ohanian was coming. “I was like, ‘Serena, you’re 35, you’re ready. This is what you want’,” she says. Williams went on to win the Australian Open and did not drop a set. She has said she will return to the tour next year after she gives birth.

First off I’m a big Serena Williams guy. She has arguably the most impressive tennis resume of all time, man or woman. That being said, I’m not a fan of her posing naked for Vanity fair. Not because its “gross” or “too much.” It’s not. I think she’s a babe with one of the most impressive physiques in all of sports. It’s because she’s burying the lead.

Who cares that she’s naked, she has a super baby in the oven. If I were her I’d spend my time trying to sign it to Nike, not pose for magazines. Bet the mortgage that this thing comes out with more intellect and athletic prowess than half of professional sports. How would it not? Mom’s built like a cyborg and dad invented the biggest nerd site on the internet; Reddit. Even if sports don’t work out I’m sure it has a future in mathematics or engineering.  Unless the genetics cancel each other out. A “two positives make a negative” type situation. Which would stink for the kid more than the parents. Already going to be tough to live up to mom and dad, going to be even harder without DNA on your side.

All that aside, there’s no way this little baby is going to slow down her career. She already won a title while it was in her, why would it be any different after she pops it out? I wouldn’t even be surprised if she got knocked up to give herself a competitive edge. It’s like a nine month ankle weight. Don’t be surprised if you see athletes start to follow in her foot steps. People give models and musicians all sorts of credit for “bouncing back” after pregnancy. No need for Serena, she never left.

Ps: Still shocked this is her baby daddy
