Not The Best Move To Road Rage With A Baseball Bat Only To Have Your Opponent Take Away And Beat You With Your Stick

FLORIDA – The cellphone video shows 24-year-old Hector Herrera striking 50-year-old Jairo Linarte with a baseball bat. Both men are then seen grappling for the bat, and then Linarte is seen grabbing it from Herrera’s hands. The men continued to exchange blows as they moved across traffic lanes, causing motorists to swerve in order to avoid hitting them. In the end, Herrera would be charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. The 24-year-old, however, said the charge does not reflect what happened. “I just want to say that I am not an aggressive person,” he said. “My intention was not to hit him with the bat or nothing like that.”

What an embarrassing effort all around by Hector Herrera. If you’re gonna commit to a felony by grabbing the metal bat, at least make it worth the jailtime. He should be swinging out of his shoes like Vladimir Guerrero in his prime. Instead he casually swings like Ryan Howard vs. every single low and away off speed pitch he’s ever seen in his career. That guy swings like George Costanza hops over puddles. He deserved to get beaten by his own stick. Plus the only thing worse than his hacks is his excuses.

“My intention was not to hit him with the bat or nothing like that.”

Huh? How does that even make sense? The eye in the sky doesn’t lie, pal. Almost have to respect his dissociation from reality. And tbh, it’s best he didn’t come out fully swinging like a madman. The “Ping” of a metal bat bone is outright disturbing. It’s the best feeling in the world when you hear it while going yard with your Omaha 3000 in high school. Not so much off a human skull. Even if every time a bat pings, a crackhead gets his wings.
