SULLIVAN, N.Y. – A Cortland man who claims he was hired to play a character from the “Wizard of Oz” in Chittenango is facing a DWI charge, according to state police. Nicholas Sherman, 31, is charged with misdemeanor aggravated DWI. On June 4, state police were called to a home on Perryville Road in the town of Sullivan in Madison County for a report of an intoxicated man on private property. Police say an interview with the homeowner found that Sherman had driven to the residence with another man and was asked to leave. Troopers say Sherman told them that he had just left a business in the village of Chittenango where he was hired to portray a “Wizard of Oz” character. He was arrested for DWI and submitted to a breath test, which found that his blood alcohol content level was .19 percent.

That moment when you gotta pop bottles after landing a role in The Wizard Of Oz. That after party must’ve been hella lump. As far as the mug shot goes, could be worse. Could be a lot worse. People will say the face paint is embarrassing but in actuality he got to take his mug shot with a mask on. I bet he looks completely different without the face paint. I know from experience that the worst part of having your mug shot taken is having it scattered about the internet. That’s what this guy is going through right now but it’s not so bad because he’s wearing a disguise. I wish I had been wearing Wizard of Oz make up the night I got arrested. I’m a silver linings guy and that’s the silver lining of being arrested wearing clown make up. By the way, The Wizard of Oz is sneaky the scariest movie of all time. Not enough people talk about that. Adults show you that movie as a kid and there’s witches and flying monkeys and all types of terrifying shit. I’m pretty sure I cried every single time I watched it as a kid and would probably cry now.
