Kaique Pacheco Wins The Last Cowboy Standing As The Race For #1 In The World Heats Up
Kaique Pacheco just going back to back winning the Last Cowboy Standing. What a way for the Brazilian to finish the first half of the season. You just don’t see it anymore. With the win Pacheco has pushed himself into a neck and neck race with Eduardo Aparecido for the #1 ranking in the world.
I mean here’s how close these two guys are:
Eduardo Aparecido: #1 in the world, 26 qualified rides, 52% riding percentage
Kaique Pacheco: #2 in the world, 27 qualified rides, 50.94% riding percentage
I can dive deep into some bull analytics here, but for the sake of keeping this blog honest I’ll refrain from doing so. The point is that it’s going to be one hell of a battle for the rest of the season between these two.
A $25,000 Showdown between the Champs
A big huge moment coming up in Oklahoma as J.B. Mauney and Cooper Todd Davis will square off near Gene Owen’s ranch. Both riders have already chosen their bulls too. Mauney will dance with Cochise and Davis will take on Seven Dust in this battle for 25 large.
As far as these choices go, Davis is obviously taking on a little bit more of a risk here as only THREE people have ever rode Seven Dust successfully. Mauney, however has already conquered Cochise when he won his back to back World Title in Vegas. I like the move though. Davis knows that Mauney is the king and wants to take no short cuts when it comes to trying to take him off of his throne.
I don’t know who will win, but I do know that the streets in Vinita, Oklahoma will be rocking that night.
Pearl Harbor bounces back
A lot of people were interested to see how the number 1 bull in the world – Pearl Harbor would hold up at the Last Cowboy Standing after Proctor had a successful ride on him 3 weeks ago. The results were that Pearl Harbor is just fine. He bucked off Derek Kolbaba in 2.34 seconds with only three jumps and was marked at 45.75 points to end the first half of the season.
He improves to 8-1 on the year and is only a good half away from receiving that nice $25,000 bonus for being the top bull.
