EW- Game of Thrones actor Aidan Gillen is coming on board Netflix’s drama Peaky Blinders. The actor who plays Petyr ‘Littlefinger’ Baelish on the HBO hit has taken a role in season 4 of the BBC Two-produced series. Gillen is known for his work in The Wire, The Dark Knight Rises, and The Maze Runner franchise. It’s unclear who Gillen will be playing or the size of his role. Peaky Blinders is likely to return in late 2017; Thrones returns July 16.

It’s. Fucking. Lit. Aidan Gillen is walking through that door folks. Fantastic news. The guy who has been a part of The Wire as Tommy Carcetti and Game of Thrones as Petyr Baelish AKA Littlefinger is joining the cast of Peaky Blinders. Arguably the best show currently on TV just got better. I first knew Gillen as Tommy Carcetti. The ambitious Baltimore politician with ideas of truth and grandeur. He played the role perfectly. Then most of the world was introduced to him as Littlefinger on GOT. One of the biggest (and most mysterious) movers and shakers in Westeros. He crushed both roles and now he’s gonna be hanging around with (or more than likely be against) Tommy Shelby. This is how you pump up the hype machine for a show. I hate how Game of Thrones is making a habit of having celebrity cameos in their upcoming season. Fuck that noise. Do it this way. Bring in awesome actors who know what they’re doing and who the public already loves. Props to Peaky Blinders.
