The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Has Dropped And The Nerds Are Saying It's Nothing Short Of Perfection

FORBESOver the course of the past day, it’s been tough to miss the nearly endless array of perfect scores rolling in for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It’s hard to imagine a better boost the Nintendo Switch could have at launch, but many may not realize just how well Breath of the Wild is reviewing from a historical perspective. Right now, Breath of the Wild is one of the best reviewed games of all time. On OpenCritic, Breath of the Wild has a 98 aggregate score, and though the site has not been open all that long, it’s the top game there, beating out the likes of GTA V (96), Flower (95) and The Last of Us Remastered (95). Metacritic has been doing this a bit longer, and it’s where you can see just how well Breath of the Wild is reviewing compared to other famous titles.

YES!!! The child within lives to fight another pointless adult day!!! And thank God it does because my first impressions of the game (solely from this preview) weren’t that exhilarating. In fact, they were depressing. But that’s solely because I’d be drastically concerned about it not living up to my gold standard expectations for Zelda games from my youth. There are so many memories from The Ocarina Of Time that I couldn’t put at risk of being tainted by playing a truly bad new Zelda quest. Shit, I had a better relationship with Epona than I did with my own family. I considered playing the Ocarina an actual musical feat. Finally defeating Shadow Link in the Water Temple is legitimately top 5 moments of my childhood. One of the best battles in video game history. So many cherished moments. Also, the Water Temple can go straight to fucking hell. There were more walls punched and cats thrown because of that maze of watered down dick than I can fathom.

So thanks to these gracious reviews, expect a Nintendo Switch be in the office by ASAP and Barstool Gametime to dance with the devil by the pale moon light. Also, the fact they haven’t made a series/movie about Zelda yet is a crime against humanity. There is no reason why it has taken this long. The action is there, plot is perfect, the characters are great. Plus Hyrule is a Jewish enough sounding of a name to make Hollywood happy. Make it happen outside of these rather impressive YouTube vids, baby.
