This Seth And Jules Reunion At The SAG Awards Was One Of The Most Disappointing Moments Of My Life

Pop Crush- In 2007, Jonah Hill‘s Superbad alter-ego, Seth, drunkenly toppled over onto Emma Stone‘s Jules and left the character with a black eye, but at last night’s (January 29) 2017 SAG Awards, Hill was the only thing keeping a shaken Stone upright. As part of a ten-year reunion of sorts, Hill presented the show’s trophy for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role to Stone for her work on La La Land, and seemed especially thrilled to name his buddy the winner. And Hill’s adoration extended until after the speech, when he — still beaming — escorted an incredulous Stone off-stage.

My God that sucked. Boooooooo! Boooooooooo! When I logged onto Facebook and saw Superbad trending on the sidebar my heart jumped a thousand beats. And if you’ve seen me, you know that is very unsafe. But I felt on top of the world as my heart was possibly failing on me, and was ready to see why my favorite movie was back in the news 10 years after its release. Was there a sequel? A new scene? Jules and Becca scissored?! Nope. None of it. Just Jonah Hill presenting an award that Emma Stone happened to win. I nearly died for that. The 2-minute reunion of Seth, Evan, and McLovin in This is the End blew this out of the water.

We need to come together as the Internet and stop making these bullshit reunions huge stories (for the record me doing it right now is to raise awareness, so you’re welcome). The only time 10 second reunions of actors should be PC is that of actors from Seinfeld or Friends coming together. But good thing I’m a solution guy, and as a solution guy the only way this can be made up to me is if they make an actual Superbad sequel now. Remember, you scratch our backs we’ll scratch yours. My back’s now scratched.
