Brent Burns And Joe Thornton Prove That, Yes, Athletes Can Actually Star In Commercials Without Being Extremely Awkward

Oil it up, baby!!!!!

It’s a tale as old as time. Professional athletes starring in commercials and having no idea how to look like a normal human being. And I get it. Asking a professional athlete to act is like asking Meryl Streep to stop being such a pretentious little bitch. The two things do not go hand in hand. That is, of course, until you ask two of the biggest beauties in the league to throw on their acting boots. The problem with most athlete commercials is that they’re for a used car dealership in town, or maybe for some auto insurance agency. It’s shit that doesn’t mean anything to these guys. But if you ask Brent Burns and Jumbo Joe Thornton to get wild for some A1 quality facial hair, well then you’re going to get pure emotion. You can’t fake that level of enthusiasm.

Every team deserves a Burnzie and Jumbo Joe.

A couple of closing statements here. 1) If you are in the Bay Area and you’re going to Sharks game on Saturday, I’d very much enjoy that Thornton chia pet. And 2) Martin Jones checking in with a Jimbo of the Week yesterday during some MLK Day action.

Goalie goals are hot in the streets these days. Pretty sure we’ve seen 3 in the past month (ECHL, QMJHL, some random European league). So Martin Jones got a little cocky and figured he’d give it a go to become the 4th tendy to light the lamp this month. Aaaaaaaaand he shoots it right into Scheifele’s chest and now gets it stuffed right back down his throat.
