Just Kidding, Starbucks Announces They Are Going To Have The Red Cups For The Holidays

Ok so I might’ve gotten a little carried away last week when I wrote a blog that had this title

And by “carried away” I of course mean I did no research whatsoever and would’ve known Starbucks was only having the green cups for a limited time and then planned to switch to the red cups on November 10th. Sue me. I take my red coffee cups seriously and will not stand for any tomfoolery associated with it. It’s the most basic thing about me. Your boy likes to head to his local Starbucks when there’s snow on the ground and get his highly caffeinated coffee sludge in a festive cup. It’s the little things in life. Oh and I also freaked out about the green cups cause it was a low-hanging-fruit opportunity to throw some stones at organized religion cause that’s always a good time. Bottom line is that me and all my other basic bitches will be able to walk around with red Starbucks cups this holiday season and all is right with the world.

PS- Does at least a small part of me think Starbucks tested the waters with the PC green cups, saw the EXTREME backlash from the interwebs and then decided to announce the red cups? Yes. Absolutely. If people had been cool with the green holiday cups they would’ve done away with the red ones. Instead, they saw it was going to affect their bottom line so they went with Plan B.
